Emily Carr University of Art + Design has been at the forefront of creative education since 1925. What began as a small art school has transformed over a century into a leading university where 2,200 students explore art, media and design. With a strong foundation in experimentation and critical thinking, Emily Carr University prepares students to build meaningful creative practices and careers while providing an inclusive and supportive environment.

The ECU campus, located on Great Northern Way in Vancouver, is Canada’s first purpose-built facility for education in design, visual, and media arts. The state-of-the-art building was designed with programming spaces, dedicated exhibition spaces, and flexible gathering areas to encourage innovation and creativity.

Emily Carr University is situated on unceded, traditional and ancestral territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw and səl̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ peoples.
