Alberta University of the Arts is the only dedicated art, craft and design university in Alberta, and is proud to play an important role in nurturing creativity and driving innovation in our province and around the world. Close to the stunning Canadian Rocky Mountains, AUArts is located in the sunny city of Calgary which has been ranked as the most livable city in North America and the 5th most livable city in the world by the Economist for the past 10 consecutive years.
AUArts offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts (9 majors), a Bachelor of Design (2 majors, 4 streams), and a Master of Fine Arts in Craft Media. With 11 areas of concentration and the flexibility to work across disciplines, students can expand their skills or hone right in on the details that inspire them. Additionally, students can benefit from one of the best – and biggest – arts facilities Canada has to offer, with each of our shared studios supervised by skilled professionals.
AUArts’ classes are led by some of the most talented – and prominent – practising artists in the country, with some of the smallest class sizes (student-to-faculty ratio of 16:1). These exceptional practitioners and dedicated teachers make studying at AUArts a rich, inspiring, and personal experience for emerging artists and designers.
Lastly, AUArts’ tuition and fees are among the least expensive of Canada’s art and design universities. There are hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships and awards available to students each year.
